Claire makes an appointment with Lana. The same afternoon she comes for a first conversation with Claire and Lisa. They have a nice afternoon with Lana. That couldn’t be otherwise, because she is a nice girl.

That’s a miracle, because she didn’t have an easy childhood. Her parents divorced with many problems. She no longer sees her father and her mother pays no attention to her. When her mother is forced to be admitted due to alcohol abuse, Lana goes to live with her grandmother. When her grandmother dies, she loses the only stability in her life. She leaves school and goes to work for people. She usually paints, because she has a steady hand. If the house she works in is empty, she spends the night there. If that is not possible, she looks for a place to sleep with an acquaintance.

During the conversation, Claire’s suspicion that Lana has no permanent residence turns out to be correct. At first Lana avoids everything, but can’t avoid it for long. With shame on her cheeks she admits that she doesn’t have a place of her own anywhere. Claire and Lisa look at each other and ask her to move in.

They make the necessary apologies that the house is still nothing. Lana waves it all away and immediately agrees to move in with Claire and Lisa.
She soon goes to work whistling. She talks completely to herself. It seems as if several Lanas are working at the same time. She is cheerful and works hard. She realizes that she needs help, because this is too much for her alone.

She suggests to Claire and Lisa that they bring in Jean Paul. He is a good friend of hers and he is very good with his hands. They have done many jobs together. He always invited her to assist him. It’s time to ask him, because there are chores here that only Lana can help with. Windows need to be replaced, new doors hung and more that only a real carpenter can do. And that is Jean Paul, JP for short.
She smiles as she talks about him. Claire and Lisa know enough and ask Lana to contact JP quickly.
