Chapter 12 – The bathroom is ready
Reading time:

Claire prepares a truly delicious dinner with seemingly simple starters. She makes snacks from puff pastry with all kinds of vegetables and some chicken with herbs and a delicious tomato soup with vermicelli.
As a main meal she makes a delicious quiche of leek, rice and curry. For dessert she has yogurt with rhubarb sauce. Coffee and tea afterwards.
During the extensive and perfect dinner, plans for a real bathroom are discussed. Do they want a bath or a shower? Lisa and Mimi would like a bath to lie in for a nice long time. Claire, Lana and Jean Paul prefer a shower, because showering is much faster.
“But I happen to know of a free bath at a colleague’s house, so it makes sense to start there,” he says. “I’m making a new wall for it that matches the rest of the interior.”

Everyone agrees with a satisfied full stomach.
The next day he and Lana get to work. They pick up the bath from the colleague and buy the taps for the bath and the sink, plus all the materials they need for the bathroom. It’s raining, so they go back to work in the old shed. They spend days making the furniture.
The old sink gets a beautiful base cabinet that matches it perfectly.
He makes a very special cupboard for the toilet bowl and sink, completely hiding the white porcelain.
He makes the same for the bath, as he had already promised.
Jean Paul provides everything again with the small mosaic work.

“It’s your personal style, the way you recognize the work of a famous painter,” says Lana. She proudly shows off the mirror she made for above the sink. Because of the narrow edges, she made a variation on JP’s mosaic. She cut mirror glass for the first time and it went well.
“You made that beautiful,” Jean Paul says admiringly.
They make a rack for the towels, a small table near the bath and an open hanging cupboard. Once all the stain has dried, they will move the items into place. Claire is the first to look and is delighted.
