Chapter 13 – A bed for Jean Paul
Reading time:
The bathroom has been approved and tested by everyone. During dinner, Jean Paul and Lana wonder what they will get into tomorrow. Mimi suggests that it is time for him to start on his own bed. “The most necessary things for others are now well taken care of,” she says, “but this is also a necessary thing for you. You still sleep on a mattress in a sleeping bag on the floor.”

“Ah,” Jean Paul mutters, “that’s okay. I sleep well, because the carpet is thick. I can sleep like this for a while. You are in great need of wardrobes, because you have a large mountain of clothes. I can start working on that.” He looks at his housemates with a smile.
The others shake their heads, because they agree with Mimi and emphasize that a normal bed is important. So this is his new assignment.

“We are also still looking for a new tenant, so take into account a private space if you need it,” says Claire. The others look at her in surprise.
“Yes,” she says. “We need some more money. We are frugal with the expenditure for the renovation, but some extra income is safer.”
Lana laughs. “Then we can buy gold taps instead of chrome.”
“And we still have some space left in your room,” Lisa says to Jean Paul. “Someone can still do that.”
“Then I create an elevation and that becomes my space,” he says immediately.
The next day, Jean Paul starts measuring, drawing and calculating. If he knows the measurements of his bed, he passes them on to Lisa, at her request. She said she’s going to make bedding for him.

Lana helps Jean Paul with the construction.
Some time later, the bed and bedding for Jean Paul are ready. When Jean Paul and Lana are working on the balustrade in the shed, Lisa and Claire make his bed with satisfaction.
When Jean Paul sees the color of the bedding, he is a little disappointed. Lisa sees it immediately and asks what is wrong.
“I don’t like gray,” he says shyly.
“Oh, poor friend, what a shame,” says Lisa. “I didn’t ask you what color you prefer. What is your favorite color?”

“Blue,” Jean Paul answers.
“Then I will make you a new set of bedding in blue,” Lisa says firmly. “But I’m going to start with a dressing gown.”
Jean Paul is happy with that. He always has to put on some clothes when he has to go to the bathroom. Putting on a dressing gown is much easier.
